At A New Leaf, we offer center-based, community, and home-based developmental therapy services for children and adults.  Typically participants qualify through Medicaid with a developmental disability, although private pay is available.

What is Developmental Therapy?

Developmental Therapy is a Medicaid reimbursed service that is provided through a Developmental Disability Agency. At A New Leaf, Developmental Therapy (DT) is provided by a qualified, trained and supervised therapist. As the  most important member of the team, you the parent, will contribute to the "plan" which involves goals for your child and therapist to work on together.

Some of these goals may include life skills such as: brushing teeth (and other "ADL's" activities of daily living), doing laundry, exchange of money in the community,  or social skills such as: taking turns while playing a game, exchanging greetings, community safety (crossing the street, stranger awareness, and making and maintaining friends).

Since every individual is unique, so are the goals and plans for each participant. We take careful consideration when pairing a therapist with a participant/family so that the therapy time will be most beneficial for everyone involved.
